Diners Club® The Best of Shanghai Dining Event

Diners Club International®, in conjunction with VOL Group, hosted a Behind the Best of Shanghai dining series, a special two-night culinary event on October 26 & 27 in Huangpu District of Shanghai, China. The two-night dining experience, exclusively for Diners Club® clubmembers, was held at the newly unveiled “Shanghai Lounge” – Bund.5 salon, a multi-functional space catered to cutting-edge lifestyle curations, food and wine gatherings, art and fashion exhibits and much more.

The Bund5 Salon was transformed into a beautiful Singaporean tropical wonderland, the backdrop for which special guest, Chef Willin Low, could transport attendees with his seven course meal back to his homeland and the robust and tantalizing tastes of true Singapore. Clubmembers had the opportunity to experience the renowned chef create signature dishes from his acclaimed restaurant, Wild Rocket, as well as a few new special creations made especially for the event.  Chef’s Mod Sin (Modern Singapore) cuisine brings to life a fusion of flavors that is reminiscent of his home. He pulls in inspiration both from his life growing up in Singapore and memories of tastes and aromas from local vendors and traditional street hawkers as well as techniques and flavors from his global travels.

Since opening its doors in 2005, Wild Rocket has continued to impress both regional and global gastronomes alike, with lawyer-turned-chef Willin Low winning many accolades over the last 10+ years. Among his many honors, in 2016, Wild Rocket joined the acclaimed Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards list, coming in at number 38.

The two-evening dining event with special guest, Chef Willin Low, truly brought to life the special flavors of Singapore to Shanghai and was a wonderful opening celebration of the new and exciting Bund5 Salon.
