Milan, 25 January 2011-- Today, Diners Club Italia reported that having completed all its already announced work on its information systems, it is fully resuming the issue of new credit cards, having also received the necessary authorisation from the Bank of Italy.

Diners Club – premium credit card without pre-set spending limit and the first corporate credit card in the world – announces its development strategy in Italy, focused on strengthening its relations with Card-members and on service quality, on expansion of the number of merchants on its network, and on product innovation.

To support its strategy, Diners Club Italia is planning for 2011 a further overall investment of approximately €5 million, which will be added to the more than €7 million already invested from the takeover date to now.

With its new initiatives, Diners confirms and re-launches its distinctive profile as an exclusive Club, conceived to offer sophisticated contents and a higher degree of attention to its Card-members.

At the beginning of February it will be launched, Diners’ interactive platform introducing a new credit card experience: a creative space where you will be able to give free rein to your fantasy, passions and desires, also in terms of services, and create your “ideal credit card”. This interactive lab will be the crucible for a new Credit Card, which will Diners will place on the market before the summer.

Besides this initiative, there is ‘Diners On the Road’ campaign, which will come to the main shopping streets of Italian cities starting from April and will make immediately visible the benefits and promotions reserved for both the circuit's merchants and for Card-members thanks to trade marketing and street marketing activities.

Diners Club International, the first credit card issued in the world and in Italy, respectively in 1950 and 1958, is today a franchising network present in almost all countries worldwide, with some 8 million circulating cards and more than 14 million partner merchants. Diners typically provides credit cards to medium-high clients, and is a leader in the offer of payment solutions to companies. Since 2008 Diners Club Italia has belonged to the financial holding Findale Enterprises. In Italy, Diners cards can be used in more than 460,000 merchant outlets and in about 38,000 ATMs. Diners distributes its products through several channels: a network of agents, a group of banks and a pool of specialists who provide assistance to the large companies. The distinctive advantages of Diners card include automatic travel insurance, total guarantee for Card-members against theft or fraud, SMS service (Diners Safe) and reserved lounges in more than 300 airports worldwide.
